This policy explains what information FormulaFixer ("we," "us") collects, why, and what your choices are. It applies to formulafixer.org and its formula tool, templates, and account features.
1. Information we collect
Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google via our authentication provider (Supabase). We don't have a separate password-based signup — Google sign-in is the only account method.
Formula and spreadsheet content. When you paste a formula, describe one in plain English, or upload a file for bulk analysis, that content is sent to our AI processing provider to generate a result. We don't store your formulas or uploaded files after the request completes — see Section 3.
Payment information. If you subscribe to the paid plan, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details — we only receive your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference so we can tell whether your account is Pro.
Technical data. We briefly use your IP address to apply rate limits (to prevent abuse of the free tool) and may log basic error/usage data for debugging. This isn't used to build a profile of you.
2. Google account data (Sheets & Drive)
If you connect a Google account, FormulaFixer requests two specific permissions, and nothing broader:
spreadsheets — used only when you click "Open in Google Sheets" on a result: we create a new sheet in your Drive and write that formula and its explanation into it. We don't read, list, or modify any other spreadsheet you own.
drive.file — used only for the "Import from Google Sheets" feature: it lets Google's own file picker show you your Sheets so you can pick one, and only grants us access to the specific file you select — never a listing of your Drive, and never files you didn't explicitly choose.
We don't use your Google data for advertising, don't share it with third parties beyond what's needed to run the feature (see Section 5), and don't retain the contents of a sheet you import beyond the analysis session.
3. How we use your formulas
Formulas and spreadsheet content you submit are sent to our AI processing provider to generate an explanation, fix, or bulk analysis, and are not saved by FormulaFixer afterward. Uploaded files for bulk analysis are processed and then discarded — we don't keep a copy.
4. Cookies & local storage
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits, and session storage for small, temporary UI state (like not showing the same popup twice in one visit). If you're on the free plan, Google AdSense may also set cookies to serve and measure ads — see Section 6.
5. Who we share data with
We use a small number of service providers to run FormulaFixer, each of which processes data on our behalf: Supabase (authentication and account/subscription storage), Stripe (payment processing), our AI processing provider (formula analysis), and Google (sign-in, and Sheets/Drive access if you use those features). We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.
6. Advertising
Free-plan pages display ads served by Google AdSense. AdSense may use cookies to show relevant ads and measure performance; this is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not ours. Pro subscribers see no ads and no ad code runs on their pages at all.
7. Data retention & deletion
We keep account and subscription records for as long as your account is active. You can disconnect your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page, and you can request deletion of your FormulaFixer account and associated data by emailing us at the address below.
8. Children's privacy
FormulaFixer isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of FormulaFixer after a change means you accept the updated policy.
